The Layered Archives exists to help bring some of those lost layers back into view.
Using AI-assisted historical reconstructions, visual storytelling and historical research, we explore how remarkable places may have looked in the past while celebrating the history that shaped them. Our goal isn’t to replace history or claim perfect accuracy, but to encourage curiosity, inspire exploration and help people see familiar places from a new perspective.
Every reconstruction is clearly presented as an AI interpretation, informed by historical knowledge, archaeology, architecture and cultural context. They are intended to spark conversation, encourage learning and remind us that every landmark, street and ruin has lived many lives before the one we see today.
